It seems like every generation believes that they had the best childhood. Americans who experienced their youth in the ‘90s are no different. Nineties kids, those ranging from the youngest Gen Xers to the oldest Millennials, often look back on the decade with fondness. It was a time of expanding technology, but smart phones and social media had yet to appear. Meanwhile, parental attitudes were becoming more child-centric, yet kids still had the freedom to roam free. To those who came of age in the nineties, it was the last great period to be a kid. Is that true? As Gen Zers, how did you childhoods compare? What did the previous generation have that you didn’t? Likewise, what did your childhood have that would make any ‘90s kids envious?
After reading the articles in the eReader about ‘90s childhoods, write about how your childhood differed. Cite from those articles only.
